Paper trading: practice without money

A paper blotter's two largest distortions are invisible from inside it, and both are arithmetic. A strategy with a true edge of zero can journal at a 58.8% win rate without anybody lying.

What you will be able to do

After this lesson you can name the two arithmetic distortions in a paper record, compute how much a plausible recording gap flatters a zero-edge strategy, and state what a paper blotter can honestly be used to practise.

Inside this lesson

  • What a fill in this sandbox is
  • You record the trades you record
  • The fill you were shown is not the fill you get
  • The honesty rules, and what paper is genuinely for
