Writing a study note that stays honest

Auditing someone else's note is easy — nothing in it tempts you. Writing your own is where the line gets crossed, usually in the last sentence, usually by grammar rather than by claim.

What you will be able to do

After this lesson you can write a five-line study note in which every line is checkable, name the three grammatical mechanisms that turn a description into an instruction, and recognise the point in your own drafting where you should stop rather than finish.

Inside this lesson

  • Five lines, and what each one is for
  • Build one
  • Three ways grammar crosses the line
  • When to stop writing
