When correlation breaks

A correlation measured in calm is a sample, not a contract. In stress, many series rhyme — and the protection you measured is exactly the protection that leaves.

What you will be able to do

After this lesson you can explain why a correlation is a sample statistic rather than a property of two holdings, describe what happens to a diversified book in a stress window, and say what “fell less” is and is not worth.

Inside this lesson

  • A cloud, and then a line
  • The week everything rhymed
  • Why calm is the wrong place to measure
  • What still works when correlation goes
